Service History

"A little schooner called the M.C.Springer hailing from Red river, was in port this week. She was built at that point by Capt. B.F.Tibbetts and is engaged in trading around the bay. Her capacity is about 10 tons, and she was launched at Red River on the 11th of July, 1887." Door County Advocate August 13,1887

"The little schooner M.C. Springer, well known in these waters, was wrecked at Milwaukee last week by being carried from her winter moorings by moving ice and jammed against the shore". Door Count Advocate February 4, 1893. This date is at odds with the date the vessel was listed as abandoned.

Last Document of Enrollment Surrendered: Milwaukee: 8/24/94: "Abandoned 10/8/1892".
Final Voyage

October 8, 1892; The schooner M.C. Springer struck an old hull off Oak Creek. The crew managed to get her into Milwaukee Harbor where she sunk.
