Service History

The two masted wooden schooner Maria Hilliard was built in Chicago by Averill in either 1844 or 1845. She was never assigned an official registration number. In 1860 (this date is after she was wrecked) she was rated C2 and valued at $1,200.
Final Voyage

"The schooner Maria Hillard is reported wrecked at Plum Island or Death's Door in 1856. She was one of the earliest ships claimed by Death;s Door."
Today

The exact site of Maria Hilliard's sinking is unknown and as of yet, her remains have not been found.
