Service History

The Belle was a two masted brigantine with one deck built in Conneaut, Ohio
Final Voyage

The brig Belle, loaded with corn and bound from Chicago to Buffalo, sprung her foremast near the Manitou Islands, Michigan. Leaking, the brig headed for Twin River Point and attempted to reach Bailey's Harbor. Unfortunately, she ended up running ashore on the rocks near that place. Both the vessel and her cargo were lost according to the Chicago Tribune (10/8/1860).
