Final Voyage

"The Barque Chicago (a Canadian vessel) bound to this port from Quebec, sunk at 2 o'clock on Friday morning the 26th ult., about 20 miles this side of 'Death's Door.' She sprung a leak during a gale, and went down within five minutes from the time of its discovery. The crew saved themselves in a small boat, and arrived at this port yesterday morning on board the Prop. Rossiter. The Chicago had on board 299 tons Turk's island salt, consigned to Mr. Langois of this city." Milwaukee Sentinel 8/05/1851 p.2, c.6.
