Marine Archaeology Resources

 
Wisconsin Underwater Archeology Association   This group is dedicated to studying, understanding and preserving all of Wisconsin's underwater historical resources. Their Web site includes information about preservation, training seminars, events and current projects, and a list of links.
 
Wisconsin Marine Historical Society  A site that promotes marine history preservation; concentrates on commerce and industry of the Great Lakes and St. Lawrence Seaway.
 
Great Lakes Shipwreck Preservation Society  A nonprofit group of divers, historians, and others with a love of shipwrecks and a desire to preserve them. Formed to deal with the unique technological and legal aspects of shipwrecks.
 
National Park Service -- Submerged Cultural Resources Unit   Includes information on the NPS-SCRU program and links to national and international sites of ongoing underwater research.
 
Archaeology on the Net  An index compiled by researchers at Texas A&M's Nautical Archaeology Program .
 
Underwater Archaeology Branch of the U.S. Navy Naval Historical Center. Advises the Navy in matters related to historic preservation of U.S. Navy ship and aircraft wrecks.
