Final Voyage

The schooner Arab was stranded at St. Joseph, Michigan, October 31, 1883. In the process, she lost her centerboard along with part of the deck load and the rudder became disabled. She was released and taken under tow by the tug Protection when she capsized and sank on November 11th, 1883 between Racine and Kenosha. The Captain lost his life when he became crushed by the steam engine.
Today

The shipwreck was located in 1981 and recorded in Jerry Guyer's Shipwreck Charts. Reportedly lies in 35 feet of water
