The J.A. Rhomberg was a 23 ton sidewheel steam ferry that was built at Bellevue, Iowa in 1875. Possibly built at Dubuque, Iowa in 1869. She operated out of Guttenburg, Iowa until 1883. Ferries such as the Rhomberg were a means of a great amount of business getting to Dubuque, Iowa from Wisconsin.
Final Voyage

The J.A. Rhomberg sank at De Soto, Wisconsin on October 9, 1883 due to old age.
