Attraction
Description
The northeastern limit of the Apostle Islands, the remote Outer Island lighthouse was built in 1874 and remains an active aid to navigation. Sitting atop a 40-foot bluff, the white brick tower offers an incredible view over Lake Superior. Situated just within the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore, the island is accessible only by boat, and the tower is open for visitation seasonally. Please contact Park Headquarters or visit their Web site for more information.
