Description
The Bayfield Heritage Association (BHA), founded in 1974, opened the Bayfield Heritage Center in 2003. A historical museum and research facility, the Bayfield Heritage Center provides a venue for the BHA to schedule regular exhibits and programs. The programming highlights the facets of Bayfield's past; exhibits explore how ways of life and changing economies, such as agriculture, logging, quarrying, commercial fishing, and tourism were determined and shaped by geographic location and natural resources. Most importantly, the exhibit gallery presents the many stories of the men, women and children who migrated to Bayfield, were born there, or just visited and how their lives are part of Bayfield's heritage. The new Bayfield Heritage Center also provides storage for the BHA's extensive archives and artifact collection, allowing for easy research in the collections and research library Please call the Bayfield Heritage Center for details and hours of operation.
