Service History

Although there are no primary sources stating absolutely to the year of the launching date, the first report in the news was in May 15,1902. Larry Larkin states in Full Speed Aheadmthat the Aurora was built in 1896.
The Aurora of the Johnson Steamer Line was in commercial use until 1931. She was employed to carry passengers around lake Geneva on a regular schedule.
The Lake Geneva News, May 10,1910 states that "Captain W.N. Johnson has had the Aurora overhauled and a complete new outfit, engine and boiler put into her."
Final Voyage

It is unclear whether the Aurora was totally dismantled and scrapped or partially dismantled and the hull sunk. A regional news article (Regional News, April 30,1931, front page) suggests that the Aurora was scrapped.
