Service History

The two masted schooner Dollie M. was built in 1893 at Escanaba, Michigan.

"The schooner is engaged in trading between the west shore of this peninsula (Door County)and Menekaune freighting farm produce for Moore Brothers..." Door County Advocate 8/11/1900.

Last Document Of Enrollment Surrendered: Milwaukee: 5/2/401: "Total Loss".
Final Voyage

On May 24th, 1901, the schooner Dollie M. was stranded and eventually abandoned at Schumacher's Point (Shoemaker's Point?) or possibly northwest of Sherwood Point which is a short distance north of Shoemaker's Point on the east side of the Bay (Green Bay). The vessel had been blown ashore during a storm and the owners decided to abandon her after considering the expense to float her free. The Dollie M. was stripped of the canvas and anything else of value.
