Final Voyage

"Loss of the Brig Success.--We learn that the brig Success, laden with 32,000 bushels of corn, and which had cleared from Chicago, was lost off of the Twin Sisters on Lake Michigan, in the storm that prevailed on that lake. The crew were all saved, but the vessel is said to be a total loss. The Success was a new vessel, built in the spring of 1862...engaged in the carrying trade between Chicago and Buffalo. She was valued at $24,000, and we believed was insured for $10,000. We have not heard the particulars of the wreck. -Detroit Free Press, Friday." Note: the position is listed as being off Twin Sisters-probably Lake Erie, but listed as Lake Michigan in reports.
