Service History

The wooden schooner Black Hawk after a long career on Lake Michigan spent many years abandoned on the bottom of the Kinnickinnic River boneyard in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Final enrollment surrendered: Milwaukee: June 29, 1908: abandoned.
Final Voyage

On October 13, 1913 the Black Hawk was resurrected from the Kinnicinnic River boneyard in Milwaukee, towed out into Lake Michigan off Milwaukee. She was then filled with inflammable material and burned as a spectacle for the Perry Centennial Celebration.
